For the second year running, Marie Claire UK held its annual Sustainability Awards to celebrate brands and products that are going above and beyond to make a genuine difference. The entries are judged by some of the best sustainability experts in the industry, one of whom was our very own founder and CEO, Giles Gibbons. Double winner Tropic not only excelled in two categories this year but has also won a slot as this week’s Friday 5 Goods. Tropic is a beauty and skincare brand that aims to benefit both people and the planet. The brand was dubbed Best Vegan Brand and Best Ethical Brand in the Beauty, Health and Wellness category. Tropic is fully vegan, cruelty free, uses responsibly sourced ingredients and double offsets their emissions.
Tropic sells a variety of products including skincare, baby care and makeup. In 2020 they launched their water-resistant sun-protection range which is formulated using certified coral reef-safe ingredients. Adding to their impressive list of eco-credentials, 100% of Tropic’s skincare range is now refillable, recyclable or returnable. Big win – not only for Tropic but also the planet!
