The Goods: The Regent Street Edit
19 November, 2021
Black Friday is around the corner, and along with the usual combination of those berating its existence sitting alongside those seeking out the best sales.
For those seeking to turn the black green, we’d suggest checking out the Regent Street Edit at 88 Regent Street, a unique collection of six sustainability focussed brands from the West End (Saywood Studio, The good neighbour, 4649.REC, Petit Pli, LR.D studio, Lab Tonica).
From the art of slow tailoring to the upcycling of vintage kimonos, and a ground-breaking technology for garments that grow to the person, these independent brands are leading the way in innovative designs and sustainability techniques.
Each brand has customised an area in the store to communicate the authenticity of their products and the story behind them. This gives visitors a more personal and distinctive shopping experience as they move through the store with the opportunity to interact with the brands’ founders and learn more about the sustainability practices that underpin their products.
The store is a joint initiative from Westminster Council, Crown Estate and New West End Company to support local brands and bring life back to the high street. It is brilliant to see a sustainable minded approach that addresses the trail of empty stores left by COVID-19; the pop-up at 88 Regent Street now occupies what was the old Moss Bros store. And it gives a unique opportunity for independent brands to feature on one of the most famous shopping streets in the world.
The Christmas lights are waiting for you, so get down to 88 Regent Street for a pop-up to really make us celebrate.
