Planet-friendly prizes

26 June, 2026

On Wednesday night, 700 representatives from the UK’s green economy got together to celebrate progress and recognise the contribution that the green economy makes to the UK’s resilience, productivity and ability to adapt to a changing climate at the UK Green Business Awards. Fans were handed out at the door, and the message that we have just 25 summers – each likely to be hotter than the previous one – to reach global net zero felt more well timed than ever.

The UK green economy is growing three times faster than the economy overall, employing more than one million people, and contributing around £100bn a year to GDP. The awards showed the role of innovation, technology, partnership, investment and leadership across a range of categories. From a closed loop system to  collect and recycle outdoor advertising materials that leads to an 80% reduction in emissions to a storyline on Emmerdale  where a trusted character installs a heat pump that led to searches for information on heat pumps doubling, there was a lot to celebrate.

The awards were a first for us. In three decades, we’ve never entered ourselves for an award, so we were delighted on our first attempt to be shortlisted in the close-run Consultancy of the Year category. Congratulations to our partners at Ecologi for securing a Highly Commended from the judges, and to our friends at Aviva for winning Nature-based Project of the Year for the 100 year Temperate Rainforest Commitment, and securing a Highly Commended in the Net Zero Strategy of the Year, Sustainability Report of the Year and Company of the Year categories.
