30th anniversary

Why do our employees stick around?

24 April, 2026

Working at Good Business isn’t just good, we think it’s great. Our work with clients does good in the world, but it’s also a great team to be part of. Maybe that’s why so many of us have stuck around so long.

Today, while our newest team member has been here just over a week (welcome, Mitchell!), our Partner team is made up of people with 10, 20 and of course 30 years of tenure at Good Business.

Our client work is important in this. It’s always interesting and often challenging: quickly understanding new client businesses, continuously learning in a fast-moving space, problem solving while at the same time helping our clients persuade their organisations of the solutions we’ve created together. For many of us here, that’s an exciting combination.

But it is about more than the work. It’s the team we’ve built and the culture we maintain. We live our values, trust one another and work well together. Many people start off in our team as graduates, learning and developing here in their early career. Many stay, dedicating the best part of their career to building and maintaining the type of company we want to be, doing the good work that we love.

With all this time spent together there are bound to be cracks. We’ve argued over who’s retrieving the rounders ball from the sea at the summer party, disagreed about the artwork on the walls, and taken competitive baking to entirely new levels. But alongside this, we’ve welcomed at least 20 Good Business babies, celebrated at least 12 weddings and engagements, and supported more house moves than we can count.

Giles, our Founder and Chairman, says this: “When asked what I am most proud of about Good Business, my answer is always that I created a place people want to work, where we enjoy working together and so, over the years, so many people have stayed. Our employee ownership is the icing on that cake. Long may that last.”
