Good food, Good drinks
17 December, 2021
There are plenty of unique takes on how people chose to celebrate over the Christmas period; some people open presents first thing in the morning, while some start the day with a sub-zero swim. Some have a fairy at the top of the tree, others opt for a star. Some flip the table after losing monopoly, others steer clear of the board games – you get the point. One thing we (very nearly) all have in common, is that it’s a period of eating and drinking far more than we should, but who’s to say what how much is too much? After all, that’s what Christmas is all about.
To ensure that you’re getting your fill of only the best – in all senses – food and drink this Christmas, we’ve collated some of our Good Business favourites.
For the abstemious among us, Urban Cordial make a delicious range of low sugar cordials using surplus fruit from British farms to fight food waste.
For those who enjoy a Christmas tipple, grab a collection of natural wines from Raw Wine’s new online store. Or sip on a gin from the Isle of Wight Distillery free from climate guilt knowing they became a net zero business in 2020.
For those who want to tuck into a Christmas dinner made from fresh and local ingredients – Oddbox, Abel and Cole’s Christmas themed food boxes do the trick, and contribute to reducing food waste.
For the extra special ingredients, try Belazu, a certified B-Corporation, or the Social Supermarket, who instead of offsetting and counteracting, ensure that every social enterprise they work with puts more back into communities and the planet than it takes to create their products.
For the after dinner sweet treat, tuck in to possibly the best chocolate in the world from Tony’s Chocolonely, who are on a mission to make 100% slave-free chocolate the norm. It’s a great last minute option for a supermarket stocking filler.
Full yet?
