Sustainability is the new black

27 September, 2024

In the midst of Autumn/Winter fashion week season, we’re excited to see that eBay’s Circular Fashion Fund is back for 2024, and that this time, it’s global. In partnership with the British Fashion Council, eBay will provide £50k in funding, together with support and mentoring, to up and coming designers and entrepreneurs working to keep circular fashion loops in motion, with an additional $300k to the ‘eBay Circular Fashion Innovator of the Year’.

eBay has been at the forefront of the second-hand style movement since before the term “circular economy” entered the sustainability dictionary. Its commitment to promoting pre-loved goods made it a haven for those wanting to reduce their fashion footprint, and it is now doubling down on this, with its recent removal of fees for sellers of second-hand clothing making this the perfect moment for that wardrobe clear out you’ve been planning and (should that be your bag) its partnership with Elton John, who is cleaning out his (presumably fairly cluttered) closet

eBay has done much to support brands and businesses to participate in circular fashion. The Circular Fashion Fund is a natural extension of its ethos and designed to drive innovation in the fashion industry and push circular fashion forward. eBay is leading the runway revolution.
