Good Business team

Join the Good Business Climate Team

19 May, 2022

We are looking for a Junior Consultant / Consultant to join our growing Climate team.

This is an exciting role for someone who wants to apply their environmental knowledge and analytical skills to help businesses, brands, government and NGOs tackle some of the biggest challenges of our time. How can we accelerate the transition to a net-zero economy in a way that makes sense for each sector? How can businesses use offsets to help reduce their impact in a meaningful way? How do we turn the latest climate models into practical, commercial solutions for businesses?

Our clients, who include household names such as Virgin Media O2, Avon, Aviva, and eBay, as well as social enterprises, charities, foundations, local authorities and start-ups, look to us to help them solve these challenges.

In this role, you will be involved in client-focused assignments from the outset as a part of our entrepreneurial and lively team, taking increasing responsibility for your own projects over time, working with our Senior Partner of Sustainability and other Consultants. You will lead on the delivery of corporate carbon footprints for both domestic and international companies, modelling carbon reduction targets and pathways in line with the latest scientific consensus. You will support Good Business in growing our climate services, offering strategic insight and inspirational solutions for our clients, and identifying new business opportunities and partnerships.

All of our projects are tailored to our clients’ needs, so although every assignment is different, you will develop skills that apply to a range of projects. You will be a strong communicator and enjoy analysing data, drawing insights and providing recommendations. You will embrace challenges, and work collaboratively and creatively to provide pragmatic solutions.

We have a relaxed and collaborative office culture and, although our outputs are very professional, our structure and approach is far from corporate or conventional. Our team is passionate, thoughtful and opinionated, with experience from a variety of industries, such as advertising, hospitality, public sector, non-profit and research.

We are proud to be an inclusive employer, and we highly value diversity of thought and experience. All qualified applicants should feel confident to apply, regardless of background or personal characteristics.

We are looking for someone who:

  • has detailed knowledge of best practice in corporate and project GHG accounting and net zero requirements (eg. GHG Protocol, Science Based Targets Initiative)
  • has a proven interest in business and environmental issues
  • has exceptional written, verbal, analytical and communication skills
  • has strong organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • is fully competent in MS Office applications including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • is flexible and adaptable.

Experience in conducting carbon footprint assessments for corporates and in client and project management would be a strong advantage for this role.

Salary: £25,000-40,000 depending on experience.

To apply, please send a CV and cover letter outlining your experience to jennie@good.business. Please specify your experience in client-facing roles, carbon accounting and use of measurement frameworks.

Please inform us of any adjustments you may require in order to participate fully in our recruitment process. You can contact jennie@good.business to notify us of any needs relating to the application process, and any information you provide will be kept strictly confidential.
