Eilish-erally can’t wait

11 October, 2024

As Billie Eilish’s global concert tour is underway, running until July next year, we’re happier than ever to see a real emphasis on sustainable measures, led by Eilish herself.

Eilish has partnered with Google Maps, to help concert-goers make more sustainable choices when attending her tour. Billie has handpicked several nearby plant-based restaurants and cafes around her tour venues, which Google Maps offers as suggestions, meaning you can smugly eat your vegan buddha bowl, knowing that Billie recommended it.

Google will also suggest a variety of transport options for your route, including walking, cycling and scooter share, while also recommending public transit routes if they’re equally convenient as driving. And for those who still want to drive, maps will find the routes that optimise lower fuel or energy consumption, helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. In fact, since fuel efficient routing launched at the end of 2023, more than 2.9 million metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions have been reduced, equal to removing 650,000 fuel-based cars off the road for a year.

With a tour and following as giant as Eilish’s, there’s plenty of room to use her influence to create positive impact. And if that means more teenage girls go plant-based and scoot to her concert, we’re all for it.
